Abruzzo – Vini e Cucina Della Regione

CHAPTER 2: ABRUZZO
Special Grower Guest: Colleflorido

The Abruzzo region, known as the ”the green lung of Europe” for its three National parks, stretches from the Appennino mountains to the Adriatic cost through its spectacular hillside. Its Mediterranean climate and diverse terroir makes it a special place where to grow vines.

Its culinary tradition also reflect the diversity of its territory: the iconic Arrosticini (lamb skewers from rocky inland), Zampone di Mare (squid stuffed with langoustine typical costal dish), Spaghetti alla Chitarra alla Teramana, Pallotte Cacio e Ova (cheese and egg dumpling), Crepatelle di Pecora (slow cocked mutton leg), Scrippelle in ‘mbusse (Crepes in Broth) and many more.

Wine wise Andrea and Daniela Colleflorido will pair their wines with our chef’s menu. They have 3.5 hectares of vineyards around the peaceful village of Pianella: smooth hills where the influence of the Adriatic Sea and the Appennini mountains lend freshness to the grapes and the warm sun does the rest. A true expression of Abruzzo at its best.

As usual reservation is essential; table are available from 4pm and they can be booked via our website or Open Table.
